Hi there. I'm Franziska Mehmann

A brand designer based in tropical Cairns, Far North Queensland - a place with great nature, where traditional art meets city life and frogs mixed with windchimes serenade you to sleep.

I’m a graphic designer & florist offering a wide variety
of creative services.

I have helped many businesses in the Kimberleys WA and clients with their corporate branding - from tradies to yoga instructors. I have more then 20 years' experience in graphic design and have worked with a lot of international and Australian companies.

I would love to collaborate with you too!

BEHIND THE SCENES

I’m a full-time mummy to my two boys Lenny & Deon and better half to Pete, who is my biggest supporter and most loyal fan.

I love chai lattes, spending money for home decor, boho clothing and the garden.
Winter time is the best time (in Australia only!!) unless I let myself pull by sledge dogs. I love dance movies & bollywood.
I did two apprenticeships in Switzerland and the beach uplifts my spirit. I hate being cold and live my best life May through December.

When I'm not working, you can find me... running around after my two active boys, surrounding myself in nature,
on my yoga mat
, bike riding or dog sitting.

MY STORY SO FAR...

I left my native Switzerland (where the best chocolate is from;) in 2011 to live out my dream of a tropical life in Australia.

After falling in love with my partner and the country, we moved around almost every two years until finally settling in Cairns.
We were mesmerised by the palmy beaches, tablelands and the oldest rainforest in the world. I’m excited that my two boys can grow up enjoying the outdoor lifestyle surrounded by nature.

WHY I CHOSE GRAPHIC DESIGN

Luckily, both my parents had a creative flair and my kindy teacher couldn’t get me off the drawing table.

Graphic design wasn’t my first choice though. I always loved being outside in nature, so I did an apprenticeship in floristry.

But after a few years, I realised that I wanted something more. The opportunity came up to do a graphic design apprenticeship and I did that for 4 years.

Since then, I’ve never looked back. My head is always full of creative ideas for personal and client projects.

I love the journey I took to get here and nature has been my big inspiration along the way.

MY ADVISE FOR START-UPS

If you’re passionate and have enough strenght and determination, anything is possible.
Don’t give up - it takes time to establish relationships and attract clients. Seek help and support from like-minded people – AKA your tribe! There are groups and forums you can join to chat to people in your field. I'm happy to advise you. Once you’re up and running, don’t forget to look after yourself.

Take regular breaks and deep breaths! Yoga and chocolate are my energy boosters.

Remember, it’s OK to make mistakes. That’s how we learn and grow.
